VTCT Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Makeup Services

The VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Make-up Services is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at makeup artists, who need to understand the COVID-19 infection prevention methods required in order to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of their services.

Please note all students are required to complete this prerequisite course before undertaking or in combination with any other Seventa Makeup Academy Course.

Students can complete the course with 4-10 hours of home based study. Students are required to complete a workbook that includes 62 questions prior to sitting a supervised multiple choice exam at the academy.

INVESTMENT: £100 GBP (stand-alone) or £50 GBP (when combined with any other course).

Who is this qualification for?

The VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Make-up Services is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at makeup artists, who need to understand the COVID-19 infection prevention methods required in order to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of their services.

This qualification from VTCT has been designed to give new and established Makeup Artists a thorough understanding of the role of infection prevention in relation to COVID-19, across the industry.

It is a theory based qualification which can be undertaken at home.  Once students have completed the home study, they will be required to attend the academy for a supervised multiple choice exam.

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification is informed by national and international guidelines in relation to COVID-19. Learners must achieve the mandatory unit:

• Infection prevention (COVID-19) for makeup services

Throughout this qualification, learners will develop knowledge on the importance of social responsibility, the causes, transmission and effects of COVID-19, and the methods used to control transmission, such as correct hand hygiene and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). They will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in the working environment in order to protect themselves and the people they work with.

What could this qualification lead to?

The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to further qualifications within their chosen discipline with an understanding of the role of infection prevention in relation to COVID-19. It also provides learners with personal growth and engagement, as the infection prevention techniques covered, such as hand hygiene, are applicable to everyday life.

Students must complete a theory examination for this unit. This will consist of a multiple choice exam which is mapped to the relevant assessment criteria.

Students who pass the theory examination will be awarded the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for Make-Up Services.

Approved by Ofqual, these qualification certificates will offer additional proof that you are carrying out safe practices at all times and can be used as evidence for local boroughs, insurance providers and employers.

*Please be aware this has become a mandatory unit within all VTCT qualifications from September 1st 2020 and must be completed ahead of any practical assessments taking place.

For courses where only a deposit (20% of the course fee) has been paid and you cancel (not change dates), the deposit is forfeited and is non-refundable.

Placement on a course or courses is subject to availability and we have the right to cancel or make changes to course dates without notice.

Most courses (refer to individual course pages) require a minimum of 2 students to be enrolled or the course may be rescheduled. Alternatively, students have the option to upgrade their course to a 1 to 1 Personalised Course (where available), with direct 1 to 1 attention with the tutor to proceed with the scheduled course dates.
