At the heart of Juan’s work is an exceptional understanding of colour.

His knowledge extends beyond selecting flattering shades to understanding undertones, colour relationships and the precise mixing required to create an individual result. He has an instinctive ability to interpret a person’s colouring, features, personality and style, translating this into makeup that feels balanced, expressive and entirely their own.

Juan believes that makeup should enhance individuality rather than conceal it. Whether working with a client, teaching an artist or advising a beauty brand, he combines technical precision with creativity and a genuine understanding of how colour can transform not only someone’s appearance, but also how they feel.

“Great makeup artistry begins with understanding colour.”

From personal consultations to international brand development, Juan turns complex colour knowledge into confident, individual results.

Code8 · Colour Maestro

Creating the Colour ID Lab

Since 2018, Juan has worked closely with British beauty brand Code8. Drawing on his knowledge of colour theory and mixing, he created the Colour ID Lab experience—transforming colour selection into a highly personalised consultation. He also developed lipstick shades showcased at London Fashion Week.

Lumene · R&D consultancy

Extending the spectrum

Juan has provided education, specialist colour knowledge and consultancy to Lumene’s research and development team, contributing in particular to the expansion of the brand’s CC Cream shade range for a broader range of complexions and undertones.

More than 25 years spent developing artistry—and the people behind it.

Juan began his career at the Cazcarra School in Barcelona, training across photographic, television, theatre and special effects makeup before becoming a Business Manager and Teacher. This established the educational foundation that has remained central to his career.

After moving to the UK, he worked as a makeup artist and manager for Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier before joining Charlotte Tilbury. There, he progressed from Lead Makeup Artist and Coach to Store Manager and National Training and Development Manager for the UK and Europe.

As Senior Florista, Coach and Trainer for Floral Street, Juan again made complex creative and product knowledge engaging, accessible and commercially relevant for teams across the UK and Europe.

Education shaped by the real beauty industry.

As Founder and Director of Education, Juan has channelled his varied experience into the creation and delivery of Seventa’s professional makeup courses. His approach brings together artistic technique, colour expertise, product knowledge, client consultation, commercial awareness and the practical realities of a working career.

Known for his energetic, direct and engaging teaching style, Juan creates a supportive environment in which students build skill, knowledge and confidence. His aim is to develop adaptable professionals who understand why a technique works and can make informed creative decisions for every face, skin tone and client.
